We talked with Martin a couple of hours ago and it seems there's a plan for the way forward.
My mistake was that I wanted to get all the preparation sorted out for the new help/documentation system and only then get down to actually create the stuffing. Well, real life isn't like that and plans get delayed, obstacles appear, etc. Anyway, we'll do it incrementally. The first step will be to collect all the documentation (which at the moment is scattered over quite a few places on moodle.org) here, in this course.
I'll keep you all updated about the progress.
Please may I suggest that Matt Riordan's and Brian Williams' manual be given the same treatment as Jason Cole's "Understanding Moodle," with a forum, and a link directly to the text as opposed to "other documentation"?
As it stands, with Jason's wonderful book being represented on the front page of this course, it gives the impression that it is a sort of standard, or future-of-moodle-documentation. When in fact, there are other great manuals, and importantly, there could be others in the future.
Matt and Brian may be above such motivation but perhaps others might be more motivated to write "Skill with Moodle 1.5" for the fame and glory?
By the way there is a discussion at the moment at the Japanese forum about which of the manuals to translate, or whether to write another one.
I'll do it right after the weekend (going away now)
