Hello,

 

I am very new to moodle. I am a teacher and want to learn how to use moodle to provide online courses. I have downloaded moodle latest 2.3 as a zip file.

I have no idea how to run this program. I need some step by step instructions on how to run/install this program and start creating my course. I read moodle docs and they don't make any sense to me. I have also downloaded xampp-win32-1.8.1-VC9-installer. I have no idea what to do next. Can someone help?

I would like to use moodle.

First, you are going to need a server or stand alone pc (with lots of memory) that you can do the install on.

If you have an IT department or tech, I would suggest having them install it for you. Or if you can use an online service like GoDaddy.com, they can provide you with an installation of Moodle to get you started.
