I've seen some suggestions on how to make a site - wide forum by creating a course (since forum is a didactic activity), but i was wondering could i "trick" somehow the behavior of the News Forum? In my understanding News Forum is a special "one directional" forum, but maybe i'm wrong and if so my idea is to create 3 (forums) discussions (Help Desk, Discussion Arguments, Various) create a block with links to this discussions on my home page. The problem is how to manage that all the authenticated users could replay and create discussions. Could this be resolved maybe by using cohorts ?
