As you sad it is theme problem and i've manage to suddisfy the 1st requirment but not the second one couse i do not know where are located the reports selector in order to change them...
required changes for moodle 2.2.:
1.* use new page content placeholder "echo $OUTPUT->main_content()" instead of "echo core_renderer::MAIN_CONTENT_TOKEN"

2.* upgrade report selectors: search for "-course-report-" and replace with "-report-"
