Hi! I am happy to announce that the "Participation credit" subplugin has been just approved and published in the Moodle add-ons directory.

This simple grading evaluation method gives credit to peer-reviewers just for their participation in the activity without comparing their assessment with the others.

There are three modes of how grades for assessment are calculated by this method.

  • All or nothing - The reviewer must assess all allocated submissions in order to obtain the maximum grade; otherwise they receive a grade of zero.
  • Proportional - The grade obtained is proportional to the number of assessments. If all allocated submissions are assessed, the reviewer will obtain the maximum grade; if half of the allocated submissions are assessed, the reviewer will obtain 50% of the maximum grade.
  • At least one - The reviewer must assess at least one allocated submission in order to obtain the maximum grade.

Is this set up within 2.4.4? And if so, where? How does the plug in get plugged in? Can individual faculty plug in the plug in? Or does is that only possible through the Moodle top administrator on campus?

Annette, this new method is available as an add-on. It must be installed into your Moodle by the administrators. I have no idea how Moodle has been installed at you campus/faculty so I can only guess that you would need to ask the top admins on campus to do so (unless your faculty uses its own Moodle instance).

See http://docs.moodle.org/26/en/Installing_add-ons for more info.
