Just reviving this thread for the benefit of future forum-searchers trying to find out how to display counts in a Choice (in 1.8).

You can make a Choice display category counts by setting a limit to the number of responses allowed. Set this limit so high that it will never be reached, and then when you display the responses, the count appears underneath each category (along with the meaningless-for-you limit).

To do this:
* Update Choice
* Under 'Limit', set 'Limit the number of responses allowed' to 'Enable'
* For each option enter a limit that you know will never be reached
* Save changes
