The AJAX Marking Block is probably going to do what you want.

AL - Yup - it helps, just noted that it is visible on all roles at the moment...
I added it to the home page so it was visible through the whole site, but it does not have an ability to change the role to a teacher or higher.
It'd be the perfect solution for our face to face teachers...

I am using it on Moodle 2.3.4+ on the front page and only teachers and admin can see it.
