I assume the students are seeing the others answers immediatly they make a post?

This is certainly the behviour in
Moodle 2.3.3 (Build: 20121112)
As I was using it with my students today. Actually I was using a hacked version to undo this as I want the answers revealed as soon as the students post. You can read about this at

I wouldn't expect it to work for someone who is a system administrator. I would expect a System Administrator not to have anything hidden from them. This is how it appears to a student in 2.4 (just created this forum and set of posts since I read your message)
