Adding 100s of questions

I am new to Moodle & using v2.2.7 (latest)

I have some 200 questions with multiple choices. I am having hard time adding these questions. Currently I am using Course  > Add an activity > Quiz 

It takes a lot of time to add each question. 


What method you follow to add many questions ?

Is there any simpler way ? 
[for eg : An excel file which has questions in first column, answer in 2nd & 3 other choices in other columns. Importing such excel file would add all questions from that]

Firstly, the latest version is 2.4.1, you may want to upgrade.

second, you should write an importer to read from a csv file (exported by excel) and insert it into corresponding Moodle Database Tables.
