Can't find Localhost from my Browser :-(

Hi there

I have down loaded Moodle the Windows installation package, unzipped it 'Started Moodle' but when I put 'localHost' or any thing similar in the browser is just says not found.

What am I doing wrong ?

It has been a long time since I used the Xampp package, but it might not be anything you have done. The Xampp package, for me, is not necessarily a good fit, so I dumped it years ago and have never regretted it.

Go to a cmd window and enter  ping and you should get back 4 lines of text that says

Reply from bytes=32 time=<1ms TTL=128

and a few other lines about the number of packets sent (4) and recieved (4).

If you are not getting any of that, then either the server has not started, my first suggestion, or it has not been installed properly - in which case, you might need to delete everything and start again. It is frustrating, using Xampp for the first time.

That doesn't tell you that the web server is running. Just that the machine is retturning ICMP packets. It will probably do that without xampp at all.
