There may be a problem with the way PHP 5.0.3 handles XML. It appears that when characters are encoded in the XML as HTML entities (e.g. an ampersand is encoded as &) the XML parser in PHP 5.0.3 will ignore the character and remove it from the output. This has unfortunate implications for the detailed report of quiz results in the "HotPot v2" module.
If you are using the "HotPot v2" module on a site with PHP 5, I would be very glad to receive feedback from you as to how the module is behaving, especially if you are using accented or multibyte characters in your quizzes.
In the meantime, I will check with the developers of PHP 5
