I have a Feedback block on the main page that is mapped to specific courses. It shows up in those courses. There is no start/stop time limit. It is hidden by default, and when a teacher wants to give the survey, s/he makes it visible. The students can see it, but when they click on it, all they get is the little intro description defined in the settings, but no place to click to actually take the survey, i.e., the "Answer the questions..." link doesn't display. Is there some setting I'm missing??
I figured something out. Apparently all students not only have to be assigned a student role in the feedback activity block on the main page, but also in the feedback activity block on each course page the feedback is mapped to, even though they're all ready enrolled in the course!
Is there any way around this? I have over 5000 students that need to be able to take the survey, and the last thing anyone has time for is to sit there and make role assignments twice.
Did you ever find a solution to this Nancy? I am having the same issue.
Please specify which version of Moodle you are using.
I don't know that I understood all right. I think you have to place a feedback inside the moodle frontpage. There you have to give the needed rights to complete this feedback. The most common setting is to give the "Authenticated user" or the "Authenticated user on frontpage" the permission to complete this feedback. This setting you have to set on the feedback itself.
Then you can map this feedback to all courses you want to be able to complete this feedback. Or you just leave it as it is and it will be available in all courses.
If you don't need the possiblility to filter the responses for courses so you can put the feedback block easily on the frontpage.
I hope it helps a bit.
