Having successfully negotiated the Apache hurdle I am now having problems with accessing the moodle database I have set up for moodle to install into.
The error message I receive from moodle's "setting up database" page is:
"1044: Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' to database 'moodle' "
Now
I've checked the config file in moodle and the user name and password is the same as I
had set in mysqladmin.
Any ideas about this? Does this error mean that apache will not allow moodle to connect to the moodle database?

I forgot to mention I am running apache on Red Hat 9.
