Moodle 1.9.18+, upgrade to 2.2 and changing URL help

I am a new administrator for our school district. Here is our environment, CentOS 6.3, Apache 2.0 handler, MySQL 5.1.61, PHP 5.3.3.  We are also changing our website to be hosted offsite.  I am very new to moodle, have never had experience on it.  We are looking for help with changing URL links and pointers. Also if anyone has some quick pointers for upgrading to 2.2 or 2.3 in the future.  Like I said I am new to Moodle admin, and look for so pointers and quick tips if possible.  Thanks smile

You want:

http://docs.moodle.org/23/en/Moodle_migration

Or the 1.9 version: http://docs.moodle.org/19/en/Moodle_migration

This tells you have to move a site from one place to another. I don't remember in 1.9.x, but in 2.x the "sed" method doesn't update links in blocks so if you have any of those, you'll need to use the admin/replace.php method, or combine the two.

Vote for MDL-35099. It will make changing URL's easier and simpler.
