I have been testing the chat daemon and was getting errors  such as active users not being displayed and people being dropped off etc so I upgraded chatd to  chatd.php,v 1.13.2.12 2005/04/01

Now as soon as I try to connect (enter the chat client) I get "Request with malformed data; connection closed".

Client I.E & firefox on Win XP  Server Linux/Apache PHP v 4.3.10

Can anyone throw any light on this problem please?

It would be very helpful if you could post part of the apache logs, namely those requests that get rejected. There's not much we can do to help without that kind of detailed information.

I have been tied up with other issues and problems so I just put the chat back to the "sooo slow" non daemon version.

I just thought it might be something "silly" that other people had already come across.

I will try and find some time to do some more indepth investigation and get back to you.

Is this forum the best place to post this sort of discussion?
