I wrote a piece of code to present the course data differently. It works independently. Have attached a screenshot.
I wanted to display this on the 'My Home' page in Moodle when someone logs in so I added an HTML block to it. Have attached a screenshot of what I can see on the 'Edit' page and what I see on the 'My Home' page as well. How do I make it function properly? The paths to the stylesheet, php page etc. are all absolute paths.. everything is on localhost. Please help me out, thanks..
this is how it looks inside my 'Edit HTML Block' :-
this is what the block on the "My home" page shows.. I wonder why it doesn't display the blocks and arrows properly though my paths are correct. Is there another way of doing this??
Can you attach your example code as a text file (.txt) - it might be easier to say what's wrong in it or how to make it work...
I was able to run a simple jQuery test script using external jQuery scripts in a HTML block.
To test that the problem is not in your site (role) settings try the attached example in a HTML block - it should render a div and once you click it the panel goes down.
I tried adding all that css inside a style tag but it automatically got erased :/
But why did you use style tag? I tried to explain that moodle is usually creating headers in theme / lib files (output renderers) and <style>...</style> should be used only inside <head>...</head tags. Using style attribute in div tag is a different thing.
Everything that you add to a html block goes inside <body>...</body> and you can't use
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="....css" />
inside body - or <style> because it belongs to header tags
