With the increase in need for students to have an online presence for their work we are looking to see what moodle can do.
We are looking at it in comparison with Microsoft Sharepoint, commercial e-portfolios designed for DiDA and also with First Class.
One thing we would like to see is the ability to set up a "user area" where all files and data can be stored, which can be accessed through the e-portfolio, either through webDAV, FTP or SMB/CIFS .... as well as the web presence that the above already offer.
Anyone got a thoughts on the idea?
We work on a simple one, inspired by:
- User can create folders and subfolders
- User can store files in folders
- User can choose to show or hide files (and folders)
- User must fill in some comment fields
(I like this one: If you would create it again, what would you do better?)
- Others can attach comments
- User's Portfolio can be zipped (with xml/html-frontend)
Well, http://sourceforge.net/projects/klahowya2 certainly looks good....until the installation process. Once installed I cold not log in as administrator, or change the database information, to allow admin access. It looks like others have experienced the same problems..including access to uploaded documents. Shame, since this appears to be quite a neat package..
