Threat to Moodle? - Adrenna Academic

As I understand it, Joomla was created by Drupal users who created a fork (Joomla) largely with the goal of creating a better LMS using the (then) Drupal base. The issue for them was that Drupal blows up whenever the Drupal community creates a new version of Drupal. That means all shared and proprietary modules likewise blow up. Of course there's a trade-off there. For Adrenna to work it needs to either work off a single (now new but someday old) version of Drupal (and risk obsolescence, like Joomla), or it needs to refresh itself with successive versions of Drupal. And Drupal 8 is going to be a big revision, hence a big risk for Adrenna. Still, the constant updates are why Drupal is relevant, so that's the trade-off.

A little update:

Adrenna: (Uh-Dren-Ahh) Blatent misrepresentation  smile

Still conflating Drupal and their LMS.

Open source edition still to arrive, three years on: http://www.adrenna.com/open-source-lms-drupal

Had to have a look and found:

The Content Statement:
Adrenna works with content partners and publishers to provide various options in integrating content into your eLearning efforts. All of which can work/run inside Adrenna's learning experience platform.  Pull from an existing catalog or engage us to assist in developing the right content for your program. We develop for our partners, we can develop for you.

That is all that appears on their web site about Content.  But what does it say? "You pay and we will do what you want." So, not Open Source, and not much said about the app itself. Lots on Drupal, but Drupal is not the app. This is seriously creative advertising, the kind that would likely annoy someone with lots of resources and a lawyer.

Adrenna looks like vaporware. Haven't found a name to associate with it yet, has anyone else? As said in the Drupal Forum, WordPress and Open Atrium on Drupal??? It cannot possibly be serious.
