I am very sorry to be a problem to you, but I am completely illiterate in technical stuff regarding server, SQL, etc and all these things. I am a traditional teacher who is suppossed to begin working in an Moodle online course next year. It's a big promotion. I want to install Moodle in my computer to start familiarizing with it so I won't be completely lost when I begin. I am having real problems to install the server (whatever that is) in my computer following the Instalation Docs. I will be working on a stand-alone basis until I start my job, my computer has Windows 7 Ultimate, 4GB RAM, i3 processor, 64-bit Operating System (I'm just copying). It has a file called Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition (ENU), Microsoft Net Framework 4, I don't see any PHP thing, and that's all I can imagine that might be of interest for you to know. I use Mozilla Firefox 16.0.2.
I really need a "Dummy-installation-guide" to be able to start using an practicing on Moodle. As a teacher, preparation is basic for me. I will be creating my course, and later working as a teacher using a server that the school is going to buy or set, I don't know.
I find Moodle very useful, from the videos you offer (and youtube) but I need some hand-on. I appreciate very much what you do in favor of the education of people.
Could you plese help me to install a stand-alone Moodle?
Thank you very much
