I am not sure where to put this, but it has to go somewhere. When logging into Moodle Docs I get this eror message:
This wiki has a problem
Sorry! This site is experiencing technical difficulties.
Try waiting a few minutes and reloading.
(Cannot contact the database server: Lost connection to MySQL server at 'reading initial communication packet', system error: 110)
This message tells me that there may be an issue with PHP and MySQL.
I will also get the occasional message that tells me that my browser is not using cookies.
I am using Windows 7 and Firefox, but even if I use Internet Exploder it returns the same error.
I hunted the error message and got a hit for an error 111, but not for a 110. The resolution of that, resetting the hosts file, did not hep at all - made no difference.
The only thing that has changed has been an upgrade to Java, anti-virus definitions and I use manual Windows updates and I have not updated anything else between the last time I accessed Moodle Docs and now. Not Firefox or Thunderbird for that matter.
a) Will a Java update interfere with cookies? Or cookie settings in a browser? Never known it to happen, but there is a first time for everything.
b) I have reset the browser to "Remember History", thereby accepting cookies, but I have turned "tracking cookies" to "deny" (if that is the right way to put it), but I doubt these things have anything to do with it.
So far, Moodle Docs is the ony site this is affecting, everything else works. I really need to get into Moodle Docs, for editing... and I will appreciate any assistance here at all.
