Apologies if this has been posted previously.
When I go to the gradebook and leave comments in the feedback box, the comments are not showing on the student's gradebook. The student is being notified by email, but comments are not showing on the email either (I'm sure they did on 1.9).
Would anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? I am using Moodle 2.2.1

We are using Moodle 2.3+ and I have noticed the same thing. The only work around I have found is to grade the assignment through the assignment and turn on feedback when creating the assignment. When you click on view/grade, you will have a section to add feedback. Then the students can see the feedback. We just installed the latest Moodle last night so I haven't tested to see if the feedback is visible by students or not. Will get back with you when I find out.
Just tested our version of Moodle 2.3.2+ and when you add feedback through the gradebook, the student can see it in the report.
Look under My preferences and make sure you have feedback visible.
