I have checked self-assessment in the set up page. My student don't see an option to selfassess their own work. Do I have to manally set them to assess theirown work? That will take some time.
How to set up self-assessment

Hi Jean. Yes, you still have to allocate submissions for the students themselves. However, there is no need to do it manually. Just use the Random allocator and let it allocate self-assessments for you.

Hi,
I tried that but it didn't work. Do I need to set anyother settings in the random area?
Re: How to set up self-assessment
And are you sure that your students already have their work submitted? Note that the self-assessment can be set up only after there is actually something to self-allocate.
Re: How to set up self-assessment
It looks like you have to set number of reviews to 0 and select the self assessment option for this to work. That's how we do it - David, are we making it harder than it needs to be?
Re: How to set up self-assessment
Yes, that is what I meant by using the random allocator for this. Just note that the option to add self-assessments should work even with a number of reviews set to a non-zero value. The allocator is supposed to randomly allocate peers for assessment and then - if the checkbox is selected - it adds the self-assessment. So, if you let it allocate three reviews per reviewer plus self-assessment, each reviewer should actually get four submissions to assess.
