Change upload sizes in Assignment Settings

I have the server setup and have the max upload limit set to 300mb so that I can upload course backups so the php.ini is fine.

Within an assignment I would like to change the available limits for uploads as at the moment they are either very low or the course limit.

No matter what I set as the Course upload limit the options remain 1mb, 500kb, 100kb, 50kb, 10kb and course limit (see screencap).

Ideally I would like 100%, 75% , 50%, 25% and 10% of course limit.

It is possible to set this somehow that I can't spot?

I'm experiencing the same issue after updating 1.9 -> 2.2 -> 2.3 and would appreciate a little help smile Thanks,

Hi Mat, (and others who stumble on it). I've sussed it for here, hepefully your issue is as simple. Go to Site Administration --> Plugins --> Assignment plugins --> Submission plugins --> File submissions and change the setting to reflect what you need. I didn't realise this was a separate setting under 2.3

I am still stuck in that problem of increasing the file size. I am using moodle 2.6.

I can't increase the upload size.

Could you please guide me through...how to to do this.

Each update buries this setting further and further into the menus!


To increase the assignment file upload limit, go to:

Site Administration >> Plugins >> Activity Modules >> Assignment >> Submission Plugins >> File Submissions

Then just change the value in the dropdown menu box to whatever you need. If you ramp it up to site maximum then it'll change along with any settings you make to the server without having to navigate into the bowels of the admin menu all over again.

You are a GENIUS.

I have been looking for this info for weeks.  I have contacted my host and members of the moodle community.

I have editted php.info files, restarted servers, learned how to change the server, the site and the course, but no one ever mentioned this step.

This needs to be put somewhere where somebody can FIND IT.

Hi everyone,

In the Site Administration, I have a limit of 64 megas, in the forums I can perfectly set the size of the files up to 64, but on the Assignments, the maximum allowed in only 1 mega.  Why? What can I do to increase the size there?

I really would appreciate your help.

Hi:

I followed all the instructions, but now I can't get the upload size larger than 64 mb.

My students have some videos that are larger than 64 mb, even after compressing. 

Can someone help?

I haven't read all the way up this thread, but this is the place where you follow the instructions.

Note that the particular Moodle version is changeable near the upper right corner of each document.

Also, if you are on a Windows server (I hope you are not) it has its own file size limit.
