..to specific resources on Moodle best practices?
I am preparing to prepare (heh) for a workshop entitled:
"Best Practices on Portal Usability: Moodle Tips & Tricks"
My audience (Malaysian government department) are currently using Moodle 1.9.18 & plan to upgrade to 2.3 next year.
Participant info: 10 pax [5 technical; 5 non-technical]
During the workshop, they plan install 1.9.18 & 2.3 on everyone’s personal laptop. That way, everyone can try out the tips/tricks on a fresh Moodle platform.
I do have my usual bag of tricks and hacks on http://moodurian.blogspot.com but I at times I think that implementing hacks and leaving them undocumented or unmanaged will render a Moodle site unupgradable come the next iteration of Moodle, be it M1.9.x of M2.x. Hence I am also looking at Moodle Best practices for Moodle out of the box. Well not entirely out of the box, since there so many great plugins which can be installed without having to hack any core code.
So what I'm looking for are Moodle Best Practices for:
- Moodle 1.9.8 and 2.3 outta the box
- Moodle 1.9.8 and 2.3 outta the box SYNERGISED with third-party plugins minus any hacking of core code
Enough for a 2-Day seminar. Each day lasts 8 hours of teaching. 8am to 5pm (with a lunch break in between).
Could some kind soul point me in the right direction?
