Was the forum "Moodle Partners" https://moodle.org/mod/forum/view.php?id=8067 there all the time? I noticed it for the first time!

No Visvaneth, I don't think so. It's recent. How recent I'm not sure. I know because I hit 'subscribe all' in the forums at some stage. This forum was not there when I did this. Don't forget my last piece of advice!! smile -Derek

Hi Derek

Apparently the authorities work in multiple levels:
- Some forums are created first, informed later
https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=211870

- Others announced, yet to happen
https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=212322

- Yet others are created first, confirmed on request.

And your last piece of advice? I have a list of them. How many have you counted? If you
mean these https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=212322&parent=931297 soul soothing words, save them for a more sensible use.

I assumed Derek's bit of advice was the "don't sweat the small stuff"  - which is one of my favourite sayings (and yet one I am rarely able to manage!)

Yes Mary, that was what I was referring to.  You have a good  memory.  I also sometimes do manage to do this, I think Wednesday afternoon last week for a few hours was quite good.

I had an interesting week last week, travelling a bit.  I met up with a few people who were just seriously hard to work with for a range of reasons I wouldn't put in a public forum.  My quote for the week was "Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle" (misattributed to Plato sometimes).  My platitude for the month.

Re: Forum: Moodle Partners

Hi Derek

Unfortunately this discussion too has left the limits within which I choose to discuss in public. I give one final try, in plain text this time.

a) Please stick to the facts! Where the **** did you get this idea that I need your sermons?

b) If you've lost track, that's is your problem! What an impudence to ask me "What are you worried about?" instead! https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=212322&parent=931297

I'm deeply sorry that I had to put it this way. When I said "save your soul soothing words for a more sensible use" above I thought you'll get the semantics. To play it safe I even added the angry smiley. Apparently nothing worked.

Ha.  Appreciate your feedback.

Visvaneth, I know I've said it elsewhere, but my view has several aspects.  I'm basically pretty cold blood-ed in some respects where activity here in these forums is concerned: there is a ton of work that needs doing to corral Moodle Tracker items into some semblance of "resolved" and there is more than enough work for anybody.  You have quite a remarkable ability & insight to go to the heart of the matter in addressing technical questions, a deep knowledge and articulation of positive suggestions, and sometimes the necessary need to go for the jugular.

My worry at times is that we can major on minors.  Our synapses can only fire so many times in a day, and I think it is best to keep the focus really worthwhile.  Also, we co-exist here with many people of many different opinions.  We have our different ways of viewing the same issue.  What's a light hearted comment for one person, to another is sermon and has left the limits, such are the vaguaries of online communication.

You have said this is "one final try" so I won't address your two questions.

As I said, thanks for the feedback.  The traffic, the noise and the morning commute calls with yet another Moodle course going live in about 5 hours.

VR and DC,
I think this forum was created by Helen as a result of D M's comments and the several suggestions thereupon that there should be a place to discuss such issues, though I did not see any specifics announcing what would actually be done (and there were a number of different suggestions.) see e.g. https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=211316&mode=2

I am rather more suprprised that the forum states that MPs are 'certified solution providers' [my emphasis] in that it was only a few years ago that Martin went on a bit of a rampage removing all suggestion on Moodle.org that MPs were in any way certified by Moodle HQ, lol.  I suppose I would like to know who has certified what........
