new plugin: Moodle welcome

I have released a new moodle welcome plugin that can be found here: http://moodle.org/plugins/view.php?plugin=local_welcome

This plugin sends one email message to users that are new in Moodle and one email to a moderator.

This will work to all standard moodle authentication systems:

  • manually created users
  • users that signed up
  • users authentication through LDAP
  • csv uploads
  • all other standard authentication systems

Feel free to send me some feedback or bugs / improvements.

Hi Bas

Thank you for a very nice and useful plugin!

I thought that the purpose of the E-mail message is to inform the user of his Moodle login details which include his password? However the E-mail message does not include the password. Is there is reason for this?

Is there any way I can send the password to the new user?

I tried the password code like so:


but here is what the user sees in his inbox:




Any ideas?
