We recently upgraded from Moodle 2.2 to 2.3 since when the automated backup fails on the majority of courses

After looking in the log files in Moodedata the following error is seen
[3/09/2012 10:02:17 PM] [error] backup_auto_failed_on_course US Level 2
[3/09/2012 10:02:17 PM] [error] Exception: ddltablealreadyexists backup_ids_temp
I can backup up an individual course manually.
Can anyone offer any advice please, thanks in advance
