Hello Moodlers.

We jumped into Moodle 1.9x after WebCT.   All of our students came from our SiS system and every course was a for credit course.   Our registration periods and terms were fixed and easy to manage.  Authentication is handled via our student/faculty LDAP servers.

Now a wonderful yet horrifying situation is transpiring to end my complacent existence on campus.   I have multiple entities outside of our SIS system wanting to use the LMS.   I am freaking out over how to accomodate them all, serve the learner, the teacher, and still keep my sanity.

It is important to automate provisioning of rosters and classes.   I don't want to 'junk' up my front page categories.  I want to be secure.

My first thought was that each entity that has its own data store of users and classes should have its own instance of Moodle.

What do you think?   Have you done this?  Can you give me some direction and advice?

To complicate matters we are begining to move to 2.x, and plan to run in parallel.
