Hi Marcus. Essentially we are looking to create a subscription service for schools to give out to their teachers. We are a teaching zoo that is creating a distance learning program. We would like to use moodle as our platform. Essentially a school could buy a subscription to the member area of the site. From here, the curriculum coordinator could dispense tokens to various classrooms (or teachers) for use on the site. All of our curriculum is being built to Common Core standards. Each module is centered on an animal at the zoo. There are multiple subject lessons available to the teacher, so they can cash in their tokens for individual packets every month.
I have found some php scripts that do this, although I am in early stages of building everything out. Is this enough info for you?
