Cron in Cpanel

(using moodle 2.3 latest)
I've set cron job to run every 30 mins as addressed » here.

  1. How much it will affect moodle functions (esp. forum alerts, chat posts, and page updates) if we increase the cron intervals to some hours?
  2. How to change the directory where it stores cron temp files? currently thousands of files (named in cron.php.x format) are created in the "Home Directory" (a directory up from public_html)
  3. Is it critical or even useful to keep these files?

Regards,

GC

Hi Hadi. I don't know much about Cron I'm afraid but as  you might have seen when you posted,   this is a social chat forum and not a technical forum so perhaps you might get quicker and better answers if you post in Using Moodle. Good lucksmile
