Issues of restoring a course - assigned teachers & the welcome message

We have just upgraded to a new instance of Moodle 2.3 and we are going through the process of 'restoring' courses off of our old 1.9 server to the 2.3 server. It has its bumps, but it is going OK. An issue we can't seem to resolve is minor, but very important to our teachers: When we backup a course from Moodle 1.9 and then *restore* it to the 2.3 server, (restoration is done by the Moodle Admin) when the teacher edits the student self-enrollment to add the course welcome message the message is arriving as if from the Moodle administrator, rather than the TEACHER of the course. (The editing teacher was manually added to the course after restoration.)  Now that students are enrolled in the course (and will continue to be enrolling) how can the course welcome message be changed to come from the editing-teacher of the course and not the Moodle Administrator?

We were so happy to see the ability to customize the Course Welcome message as we support schools from all over the state... But this little glitch is making us (and the teachers) crazy. Any help would be appreciated.
