If I am not mistaken, that behaviour is controlled by what you put in the Maximum number of attempts setting when you created the Lesson. Set to 1, students only get one shot at the answer, then the lesson moves on to another page. If you were to have 2 in that setting, they get two tries at getting the correct answer. And so on...
