Hi,
We updated to Moodle 2.3 (from 2.2). It seems that the journal module now clears all text when students click on the edit button. If a student wants to edit text, sees the blank text field and hits "save changes" the students will lose all work done to this point and only any new text entered will be visible.
Does anyone else experience this issue?

Thanks for reporting the problem, I've created an issue in the tracker (http://tracker.moodle.org/browse/CONTRIB-3807) and solved the problem. You can download or fetch from upstream the last version of the module.

I downloaded the leatest version, installed it but I still get a empty box when I try to edit text.
Journal: 2012072600
Moodle 2.3.1+ (Build: 20120802)
Do I have to do anything more?

We have Moodle build 2.3.1+ (20120809), and journal module build 2012072600. The reported problem is happening to us as well. Did a recent core code update break the journal (again)?
