Timing vs. Conditional Activity

Timing vs. Conditional Activity

We would like to restrict availability to mastery tests down to the day AND minute. It appears that both "Timing" and the conditional activity via "Restrict Access" field offers this sort of functionality. What is the difference between the two?

Thanks!

  1. If you restrict dates using Timing, even outside of availability dates the students will be able to enter the quiz (via the link on the course homepage) and read the introduction.
  2. If you restrict dates using Restrict access, outside of availability dates the students will not be able to enter the quiz at all. They will either see it inactive, in grey (with availability restriction info) or will not even see the quiz at all.

Hope this helps,
