I have had a search around but can't find any info relating to this.
Using Moodle 2.3 stable how could I go about having Vimeo as a repository enabled and showing in the file picker? We would like to host our video content offsite to try and save some bucks on our daily backups to an external vault.
A lot of our users already use Vimeo for embedding content but it would be great to have it in the file picker.
Any thoughts please?
A Vimeo Repository would be very nice - let me second the request.
While waiting for this, it is easy to embed a Vimeo video using the generated embed code, into any text field in Moodle.
In the chosen Moodle text field editor (for a new Page, or in a Label, in a quiz question field, a forum post text field, &c.), toggle to HTML Source mode, and paste in the embed code provided by Vimeo. If embedding of the video is restricted, be sure to enable your embedding domain in the Vimeo privacy settings.
You may wish to edit the embed code, to adjust display size &c.
When toggling back to wysiwyg mode in the editor, don't despair that you see a "Sorry, the creator of this video has not given you permission ..." message. Everything will be fine in the end, so it if is not fine, it is not the end. Just Save and return to course, try the link, and all should work fine.
