Hello,

I've a questions as how to maintain student's grades from past classes  after reset the course.  This is what I'm trying to do :

List of all the classes that been taken and the grade.

Eg. Accounting    A

      Management  B

      Economics     A

I'm not sure if I'm doing it right, when I go to overview of a student's grade, I can see the grades for all the classes that they've taken.  However, once the class been reset, all the grades in overview dissapeared.

Please help, any suggestions welcome.

Thank you so much.

Hi Thila,

If you reset a course = remove students, your grades will be indeed gone.
You have two options:
 - Do not reset old courses, instead hide old ones, create new courses for the new semesters and import data there.
 - Reset old courses to save space, and keep grades history outside of Moodle.
Or inside if you wish, but still not really connected to the "real" courses.

E.g. depending on your Moodle version, you can activate Notes and record grades there per each student  - http://docs.moodle.org/23/en/Notes

Or create one huge hidden Moodle course, enroll all students there, and manually record their grades each semester. This will give you a nice roster of everyone.
This all, of course, depends on your needs and scale.
