Notifications when enrollign using paypal

Hello,

 

In moodle 1.9 teachers and students would be notified when they enrolled in a course usign paypal. I upgraded to moodle 2.2.2. The Paypal configuration shows check boxes ot notify, but no one is getting notified.

 

I have a moodle integrator that worked on it. They have done all patches suggested on this forum. It still does not work. They are telling me it is a problem with Moodle after making PayPal part of it(paypal use ot be a add on plugin).

 

Does anyone know if this is corrected in Moodle 2.3 or any work was done on Paypal in moodle 2.3?

Hi Doug,

Can you upgrade your site to 2.2.3 to obtain the fix for MDL-31429?

Regarding work done on Paypal, I've just tried a quick search of the Moodle Tracker for 'paypal' and can't see any issues affecting 2.3.

Helen,

I contacted the Moodle Partner that installed the 2.2.2. They informed me they upgraded me to 2.2.3 and it did not solve the problem of not getting notifications of Paypal Enrollees.

Under 1.9 I and the student were notified upon enrollment. Every since the upgrade to 2.2, then 2.2.2 and now 2.2.3, I and the student do not get notifications.

 

Please understand this was done and configured by a Moodle service provider. They have gone through it all and it does not report.

We have the same issue here.

In our case our Moodle Version is 2.1.4+ 

Any idea on when or how can we fix this? 

The welcome email is important for the new Enrollees! smile

Hi Esteve,

Upgrading your site to the latest stable Moodle 2.2 should fix the problem. If not, please create a new issue for it, since I can't find anything reported by Doug.

Can you let someone know that:

 

Is not resolved? This issue is still present in Moodle 2.2.3.  This was installed by a moodle provider and they have tried all fixes and it still does not notify.

As MDL-31429 is now closed, please could you create a new issue to report the problem still being present in Moodle 2.2.3, giving as much detail as possible. (You'll need a tracker account in order to create a new issue, as explained in the Tracker introduction.)

I see this problem is not yet resolved and I may have more info to add.

Does your main moodle admin e-mail account receive any Payal error messages when a student enrols through paypal?

Anything like PAYPAL ERROR: Transaction ######## is being repeated!

Is the Paypal Plugin configured to send e-mails to the teacher on enrolment and if it is, do they receive them?

Thanks for the follow up. In answer to your questions:

 

1. We do not receive any error messages when a student enrolls.

 

We do receive an email from Paypal stating someone paid. This is coming from PayPal not the moodle installation.

 

 

The PayPal Plugin(not sure this is true as it is part of the core now) does not have a setting to select this. I beleive it did. CAn you guide me to the setting?

Login as admin.

Select Plugins.

Select enrolments.

Select Paypal.

Switch on notifications.

I just checked it out. Student was checked, teacher was checked, admin was not. I checked admin and we will see if they get it.

 

 

But as of now, teachers and students are not and they were checked.

Hello, I know this is not the right forum, but i hope you can help me out.

So, this is the case, I want to use the Paypal enrollment method, so

 

When the user pay, does it get a password to login in the course??

or paypal just unlock the course automatically after paying?

 

I am asking you this, because in case the system gives the user a password, how can I be sure the this user gives the password to someone else?  (I want to use self enrollment registration in moodle)
