I just searched through the latest forum posts and read The request from Nancy Hoke and the replies including the reply from Bob Puffer about forum glut. My problem may be the same php.ini settings issue or not. As described in these posts my issue is, in my mind, a little different. The instructor has created a column to record grades for an activity which is on a publisher's website. She wants to manually enter the grades she receives from the publisher. The activity is a publisher worksheet that the students know to go to the publishers website to access. It is not an assignment created in Moodle which would then have a column in the gradebook automatically created and associated with the assignment.
When she turns editing on to manually enter the grades she has the class divided into pages—5 students to a page. She can type in the grades for five students on that page and save the action. Only four grades are saved. The fifth student's grade is not recorded (saved). The php.ini conversation seems to focus on larger numbers and we are dealing with a class of 20 with five per page in the gradebook.
We are using Moodle 2.2.3. We have Ajax enabled and Quick grading enabled. The server admin is on vacation and we have no PHP programmer on staff. Any suggestions would be invaluable. I am including a screen shot of the page with the four saved sample grades after entering five.
