I am tryng to set up a group whereby a non-editing teacher can only view grades and submission from trainees in that group. I have enabled seperate groups and force groups but that's not doing the trick. I am using 1.9Any assistance greatly appreciated.
Make sure the teacher is inside the same group as the pupil and then you need to change the capability http://docs.moodle.org/19/en/Capabilities/moodle/site:accessallgroups to "non-set" for the teacher role.

Thanks for the response. I'm still a little bit lost. I have had a look at the link but i can't find where I change a setting to 'non-set'.
I have set up a group in a child course, I've enrolled the assessor and the trainee in to the group. I have set the course Groups settings to separate groups. Not sure what else i need to do.
Sorry if I'm being a bit thick. I haven't used groups before.
