no grade -seems tobe not working

Hi there,

Can anyone help please I have created a lesson and selected Grade - no Grade. However at the end of the lesson the student sees the following message.

You earned 3 out of 3 for the automatically graded questions.
Your 1 essay question(s) will be graded and added
into your final score at a later date.

Your current grade without the essay question(s) is 3 out of 4
 
How can I prevent this message showing? Have I done something wrong.
 
I am working with moodle 2.1.1
 
Really hope someone can help please.
