Title says it all. In pre-Moodle 2 versions it was possible to upload a zip file and un-zip it in the Course files area.
In Moodle 2 if I upload a zip file to My private files, how do I un-zip it there?

Wow! file manager is now really pretty, but you are right, this is missing. I think this counts as a bug and should be filed in the tracker. I think your proposed UI looks good.
