Help installing module

Hey,

Just reading some tutorials it seems that the zip should have a mod and block directory to go into resepctive folders in my moodle installation.

However, when I unzip the source, there's only one directory called "andreev-artem-moodle_mod_attforblock-175cd46" and this just seems to have source code in it.

Can someone please tell me what to do with this directory??  Do I just put its contents in block/attendance????

What to I put in mod??

Many thanks!  Totally new to moodle.

John

The attendance module follows standard installation procedure.

  1. Create folder <path to your moodle dir>/mod/attforblock.
  2. Extract files from folder inside archive (andreev-artem-moodle_mod_attforblock-175cd46 in your case) to created folder.
  3. Visit page Home ► Site administration ► Notifications to complete installation.

1.  Make sure that you have the latest and the correct version for your instance of Moodle.

2. Check that you have ownership and permissions set correctly on the attforblock folder.

Thanks, just confirmed this works on the latest moodle.

Sorry, new to moodle so the conflicting documents confused me.

Thanks again!

I followed the instructions and was able to install the mod_attforblock successfully, but I just the attendance module in the activity module and not in the blocks. What could be wrong? please advise.

My procedure.

1. Downloaded the module zip from github

2. exploded that in an empty dir on the moodle installed box

3. copied the contents to <moodle_home>/mod/attforblock

4. Admin -> Notifications -> installed/upgraded the moodle db

5. received the mod_attforblock success status.

But I do not see the attendance module in my Blocks. Please help.

Thanks,

Keyur
