With a large number of students it is very challenging to navigate the grade book as the scroll bar is at the bottome and the greaded items at the top and you cant see both at the same time.
Am I missing something here

The last comment on this thread is about an add-on called LAEgrader. They just released a version for 2.x and from other users' comments it seems stable. We will most likely upgrade and test during the summer when few students/teachers are using Moodle.
CLAMP's LAEgrader report is entirely encapsulated for 2.x, it can run alongside the regular grader report and is found here.
