Is there any possibility to view a list of all the other group members of one's own group while having only student permissions explicitly without using the list of participants in Moodle 2.2? The reason for this request is that we had to globally restrict student permissions concerning the list of participants, because it's considered sensitive information in some of our courses.

That´s indeed a request we often receive: just to know who else is member of the own group. Or even to know which is my group (independent of activities in seperate groups mode). I´m wondering if there is not a way to fullfill this request. If really not, this has to be a feature request!
Anyone ideas how it is possible to view the other group members?

One workaround is to create a chat with the same grouping. If all members open the chat they can see each other's names. I have had problems with this working, but I think they are problems with my local internet connection, not with the feature itself.
