wildcard dataset problem for calculated question type

wildcard dataset problem for calculated question type

I am trying to put together a quiz for chemistry where the wild card data set needs to be between 0.01 and 0.1 for the values to be realistic.

I am using moodle 2.1.1 (Build: 20110916)

I have set up a questions using {n} as the wild card and have set the range to be 0.01-0.1 and the examples on the final page seem to work perfectly.

However when I add a set of wild card data values it automatically chooses numbers between 1 and 10.

I'm guessing that the code for adding the values does not refer to the range that you can change on screen.

Is there any way of changing the code to refer to the range? Has this been fixed already in later moodle editions?

Thank you in advance for help

Lynne

Did you set the Decimal Places in the Item to add

and the Correct answer format to values that correspond to your needs ?

I am having a similar problem as LB under Moodle 2.5.

If I delete the wild card set, I still get error messages that the answer is outside acceptable limits.

Hi James,

" I still get error messages that the answer is outside acceptable limits"

It seems that your response tolerance is not set properly.

Could you give a more detailed example.
