Editing default (standard) scale description

Editing default (standard) scale description

Hello,

I am brushing japanese translation up and updated help/forum/ratings.html file.  However, when I pressed the help icon on a forum editing page, the help window showed old description of the default (standard separate/connection knowing) scale.  The description seems to be stored in the database table mdl_scale.

How can I update the default scale description?  Do I need to issue sql commands by hand?

Thanks in advance.

Thank you for helping our Japanese translation project. wink

To update your default scale description, please follow steps below:

1. Go to your course page.
2. Click "Scales..." on "Administration".
3. Click edit icon on "Action".
4. Update your "Description".
5. Click "Save changes".

Is this what you need to do?

Oh silly me!  I visited "Scales..." page with the course teacher privilege...

I can do it.  Thanks a lot.

Oh, I still have the problem.

Once I create a forum that uses the default scale, I miss the "edit" icon for the scale on the "Scales..." page.  I understand that editing a scale that is being used in somewhere is dangerous, but one might want to update its description and/or names.  There should be a proper way to update them with apropriate warning.

What do you think?

I agree with you.

You can show up "edit" icon by selecting other scale on your forum page.

I checked /moodle/course/scales.php.
It's not so difficult to hack as you think.

How about posting your idea to http://moodle.org/bugs/ ?
