I was wondering what recommendations the community had for web hosts that provide Moodle. I am working with a K12 high school to "pilot" Moodle before the entire school and the county deploy it. Right now we are trying to get a web hosting service that will actually work for our pilot for around 100 enrolled students (not all at the same time, aronund 25 at the same time. We have one account that a teacher is using that is with GoDaddy (version 1.9) and works great with 30+ students working at the SAME time. Only issue is GoDaddy will not take a check from our finance department (and we can't do an echeck per state law) so we cannot use them. We went with HostMonster because they offered to let us mail them a check and they will activate it when they get it.
The issue with HostMonster is they have been "throttling" our account with only about 5-10 students. They refuse to help us or provide more information and told us to find a new web host because they weren't going to change it. It is running v2.0. They even throttled our account when I was trying to backup courses before we cancel our account.
What other hosts does everyone recommend? Our price range is less than 300 a year since it is the end of the fiscal year and we have spent 98% of the allotments. If this catches on more than likely we would deploy a dedicated in house server, but right now we need a hosting company to do it while we pilot it.
