Guten Tag Chris! (Heute ist mein Geburtstag!) This is work in progress -there is a tracker entry here you might be interested in http://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-27508
Gute Geburtstag Frau Cooch für Samstag. Et merci pour avoir me donné ça link.
This way, the workshop will be available only to users who are members of the grouping's groups. However, if you want to allow, say, submitting to some groups only (while the other group would do the assessment, for example), there is no easy way to do it. You would need to locally overwrite permissions for all the users who are not in the "authors" group and prevent them from submitting.
Thanks David, I'll try that. I just want the module to be limited to one group, so the simple fix will sort my problem out fine. I'd forgotten there was that "available for group members only" checkbox that the admin had to enable.
Actually, you don't know where the option to enable that checkbox is do you? I can't find it (and I'm logged on as admin).
Yup - Settings > Site administration > Development > Experimental. and documentation here http://docs.moodle.org/22/en/Available_for_group_members_only
Nice one, danke Frau Cooch.
I see that MDL-27508, mentioned in Mary's post above, is marked as fixed. The fixed branch is listed only as 2.3. Has the fix been ported to earlier versions? I am using 2.1.5+, and being able to sort by groups is something requsted by my teachers.
Has the fix been ported to earlier versions?
No, the sort-by-group fix was part of bigger changes and as such was considered as a new feature. According Moodle development policy, changes like that are not backported to current STABLE versions. You will have to upgrade to 2.2 and then to 2.3 in order to have them available (which is generally recommended anyway).
