I know, I know, Moodle doesn't want to become another feature bloated all-in-one-ContentMS... but:

Is the Main menu block the only (official) place where I can add resources to the course id=1, a.k.a. the front page? The book module helps a bit as the multipage resource isn't in 1.5 (?)

But at times I find that I would like to add a resource that doesn't show on the main menu. A link to the resource might be in the topic block, or the course summary block, for example. (Was the a "collapsible menu" block mentioned somewhere?)

Is there such a place? I'm thinking of adding a copy of the main menu block functionality that can act as a resource bank, and when hidden the linked resources would still show up.

I'm not asking for any of this to be at the Moodle core, but maybe add-ons.
