Updating a pdf file in Moodle

Updating a pdf file in Moodle

I am a new Moodle user organizing by Topics.  The Resources I have added to most Topics are folders each of which contains a set of PDF files.  For example, in the Chapter 4 Topic, I have a folder called Notes containing files named Section_4.1.pdf, Section_4.2.pdf, etc.  I made some changes to my original Word file for Section 4.1, saved the changes to my computer in pdf format, and tried to upload to Moodle still naming the revised file Section_4.1.pdf.  However, Moodle reverts to the original Section_4.1.pdf.

How can I update a pdf file and still use the old Moodle name?

Thank you for any help you can offer.

Hi,
I have seen this behaviour some times. In every case, it was due to caching, either brwoser caching proxy or server caching.  You are seeing the old page stored in memory (or disk), not the new one. This occurs if both files are named the same.

If you "refresh" (or "reload", or press F3, the name varies among browsers) the page in the browser then the brwoser will be forced to actually reload again the data, and you will see the correct file.
